The Treacherous greenery

It does look very good from a distance, the greenery , the trees, the sea opposite, the rocky beach where I stood and many more to add to it.

@Anjuna Beach - Goa

THe rocks out there at the beach were slippery, you never have a clue of what would happen at your next step.A hand held from anyone is always welome from my end. Why take a chance. . The terrains are beautiful with the green patches and terraced appearance.

Hope the green on this side always remains.........

Nokettha Doorathu Kannumnattu

The snap is from the Fishermans Cove at Chennai. It was great to play a game of football after 3 long years. For a sec the ball was lost and it was then that the snap was taken. It cudnt get better than that day .. A day filled with just entertainment, fun and ending with the Gandhigiri.

By the road, on the way back.....

The roads lay vacant. For a long time it had been just the light from the lamps of the bikes that lit up the road. The Abode of the God caught our attention from a distance.Harvested paddy fields were to its either sides. On that lovely night even the wind failed led to rustle the leaves of the trees around. The sky was clear and the stars shown bright. However the silence after ignition being turned off was broken in no time by the killer sound from the crickets. That was the night right after the Diwali.

How better can the church be lit up during this festive season !

Cheers To Life

Those beer bottles together with the others got me stumped last time. That day they were the pathbreakers. To digest the fact that I was too slow when it comes to devouring them, was really miserable. Its said - have them in small quantities and not gulp. " The slower you are the lesser you get " - that aint funny in any sense. The company of yours have the speed combined with capacity, a high octane fuel in this situation which makes those mean machines run at full throttle, empowering them to compete with the best in business. Thanks to my bangy roomies to help me understand that potential information.Genorisity gets a kill -9 under these circumstances.

New lessons are to be taught in a different way to us,the Generation X.The thick fog seems to clear away making the picture better. The gorges which were feared to be just a step ahead now appear to be at unforeseen distance. They are now threats of the past.Though very much sure to meet with a new one in near future, with increased vigour and might, its these obstacles which are always welcome, that indeed provide the welcome breaks from the melancholic routine.Speed up yourself, adopt to the situation its worth taking a chance.

Get boozed, kill the germs of prejudiced mind and feel the new world opening up with a wider horizon. Indeed I have got the kick .. Hic ! Hic !!

@ the Sugar Cane Shop

Through the traffic we went zooming past a Merc and BMW( sports version).
On the way, the brakes screeched , bringing the 150 cc machine to a halt and we were ready to pounce the glass of sugar cane juice, finish it off in that big gulp - One Sip and the Glass should be empty type. It was a bogie this time too.

A little chap was there working with his cane. He,just like any of us was eager to go through the candy all alone. He had a Saw larger than him,to chop the cane.Cudnt stop myself from clicking a snap then. The click, took him by surprise and he came towards me in a flash. I was caught on the wrong foot by that 25 metre dash of his. Cleaning his face with his T- Shirt( nothing strange about that in India) he posed for me with a cute smile and justered me take a snap of his.Once done,he pulled my arm down, looked at the snap, smiled once again and dashed away to grab his cane, from his father - the shop keeper and continued his tussle with it.

This moment will always remain with me, scribed among the front pages of my memory.

Among the ruins of an Amphitheatre

Trapped she thought.Mundane thoughts came flooding in her mind. She couldnt stop but brood over what happened. The cards she played, seemed all wrong, a decision that could make or break things finally turned against her. The codes she wrote with passion were a pain now. Her destination now seemed a distant dream. She felt lost, aliented in the new city, the city that never came to terms with her.

Last week at Golcunda, I saw that window, the Window to Heaven, I managed to find it among the ruins.I hope she finds it soon too.

A Dancefloor of a golden era waits patiently to be rejuvenated.

Ah.. Just Enough,

Those birds just took me back to the school days for a moment, of course to those painting classes. For me the Alpabet V had lot of meaning, it could be a bird in the sky, green grass the next second and what not. Time flies and here I am but a spur of a moment can take you back and forth.

Hang Him,Verdict was finally out

22-Jun-2006, 3.00 am, the death bell finally rang. Dingan never dreamt of such an end, did he?

Few days earlier, we had a ripped jeans, a half eaten apple on the bed, the waste basket lay toppled and above all the kitchen was stinking, almost like a fertilizer truck had run over a skunk. Alas he is in! my roomie gasped.

Work on hand, I shouted, we cleaned up the mess and the grudge increased as time passed. We were very tired after the days work and this one was a blow from behind. The culprit was not found anywhere. Not a clue.

Later on Dingan worked predominantly during the night. The chaos he created was beyond limits. He showed himself once; He was small, brown and fast.He turned quickly and escaped through the back door.

With futbol on air, our nocturnal activities increased, Dingan was finding it tough. He took all his courage to come out on that deadly night of Jun 22nd.I saw him, He is back I cried out. Closing the doors we ran behind him, he managed to escape from 3 blows, but the cricket bat met the target. An eye ball popped out, He laid motionless, Not a drop of blood - Surgical Precision! Professionals in making Arun hinted.

What next? The decision was unanimous Hang him till death!

Yesterday,I saw Dingans cousin, will history repeat?

It Does Matter These Days

Its been few days now that I am missing the lift at my office. The door has got shut for the fourth time this week right in front of me, forcing me to take the stairs all the way till the fifth floor. Getting really lazy these days. And why not wait for the lift, it always happens that when I miss, its always on its way to the topmost floor then descends and proceeds to the underground parking area (obviously somebody is waiting there to be picked),thats 2 floors below the ground floor where I stand waiting and then it comes to pick me. I can always reach my desk within this time. Lack of patience, maybe it can addressed so.

Few years back, when in college, I luved the stairs, for the obvious reason. Stay there and you are sure to get a glance of the ones you are dieng to see. Maybe after that 3 years relation with her, she now thinks I have ditched her, I do not find any other reason of why she is being so cruel with me. Lets hope with this confession of mine, she understands me and allows me take the lift atleast at the office. I do not know for whom I got to stand by the stairs at my office and wheres the fun without the gang around.

Algrebra at its best

X,he is remarkable. Plunge into the evergreen grasslands of algrebra and you find him everywhere, yet he slips away. There stands the the strong walls of the Bracket kingdom. You are cornered by the squares, the curls strangle you . Blood starts pumping in,hunger disappers once the hunt for what lies beneath starts .The walls of the kingdom never stand the constant attacks even from a lone crusader for long .The jinx disappears. The autumn in the heart ,the season of the dreaded thirst ceases and first flower of spring blooms.

Mind sees what it Chooses to see.

Indeed a luxury, luxury unlimited

Share-Auto,a common phenomenon in most of the Indian cities. The striking difference out here( Hyderabad) is the presence of the so called Hi-Fi stereo system. The Driver himself being the DJ,cassettes being replaced at his mercy. Telugu-Tamil-Hindi, they just come in one after the other.I wonder if they have any Volume controls. So dont get startled the next time you get into one.The first day,I'm sure my heart skipped a few beats. The noise levels are alarmingly high, but can you expect more luxury at rupees 5.The tape heads for sure havn't been cleaned for years and the speakers they dance to the music.."Have Mercy on us Please" !!, I have seen that in most of my fellow travellers' face.

Back home, my neighbour says "He is back for his hols" when the deafening silence around is broken by the loud music from the 3200 W system of mine.I love them loud, blaring at their will.

Dont dare to call me names now, My ears are still in perfect condition.!!

Visual Extravaganza

Ever been there to witness the pomp and pageantry. Well I havent, but indeed will catch up some day. The traditional percussions,The caparisoned elephants, Kudamattom( a sequenced and swift changing of coloured umbrellas), the mindblowing display of Fireworks all these and much more add to the Thrissur Pooram.

The percussion includes the Panchavadyam, Pancharimelam and Pandimelam to my knowledge. The best of the elephants are on display. The fireworks provide a grand finale to the festival. A healthy competion is what it is all about between two temples Thiruvambady and Paramekavu at the Thekinkadu Maidanam, one trying to outdo the other in this flashy exhibition. The Police ,they have a terrible time, traffic goes haywire, crowds come in thousands from all parts of the globe. Talk to any Thrisurite and they will never stop once they hear the topic on air is Thrissur Pooram,my dad being one of them.

This Year the Pooram was celebrated on Sunday(May 7th) with all it's traditional gusto and spectacular ingredients, except fireworks display.Heard it must be possibly the first one of the century without the dazzling fireworks.

Catch you there next year!!

Watch your Step

This sculpture has been there for a long time now. How many times have I been here ..?? Everything has a time to happen, is that so ?
Location : Guruvayoor ( Near Pachajanya Guest House)

I suppose when we have that deadly device ( a cam) with us ,we become conscious of the surrounding and start admiring their beauty. Sreejith , he is the one who got me hooked into this art.

Just Before

Evening, and the dark clouds were built on the horizon. With time, they gathered in to raise their voice, a downpour and a remarkable silence followed. Man indeed is enlightened in abundance from nature.

Agitation, they are on a rise; Bureaucracy,I better maintain silence; WE are indeed living over and above the edge!

The Gap closes in

It wasn’t the FrontPage pic of three damsels with their T-shirt One-Liner going-- I want Freddie’s Babies or a Barrymoore in bikini that brought out the glow in my sleepy eyes, rather it was the column about the Guys loosing to Girls in the Art of Copying during the exams. To be called a Guru in this Art isn’t something that can be boasted about, yet it brings about a smile in the performers heart. The creativity involved here is immense like any other craft. Practiced to perfection, improvised over generations and equipped to handle any situation, it seems the boys are loosing their brilliance in this wizardry.

The article describes the cutting edge techniques practiced by boys to assert their predominance in this art; however the modus operandi of the so-called weaker sex has not been transpired in writing. The article reveals about girls electing to wear Salwar into the halls rather than the skimpy apparels which one sees them on, to spice up the heat during these “hot” summer days, and also about a dedicated woman invigilators in place in each room to check the girls. TIMES has failed to come out with the dark secrets of the mystifying and sophisticated techniques used by gals. This forces the male patrons to fancy the reasons of this down fall to

1) State of Art techniques developed to suit the female anatomy.
2) The ever-growing followers of this art among girls
3) Lack of dedication from the part of boys and many more …

This news has brought tears rolling from all guys (including me) who have efficiently performed and cleverly mastered this class act and remained supreme during their reign. This is Unacceptable!!!

March 12 2006

This day would always be cherished by one and all who are passionate about sports.

I had three things on my schedule that day .

The India V/s England Test ( Played at Mohali Day 4) , The New Season Grand Prix , and the Austrailia V/s SA series showdown.

India v/s England

India had a good outing at Mohali, with Kumble helping India to bag 5 English wickets by the end of the day , throwing a door wide open for Indian Victory. This was eventually possible by some nerve-racking deliveries by Munaf Patel ( is this a Baruch Express in Making ) the debutant and the ever reliable WALL leading from the front.

Bahrain Grand Prix

Alonso had Schumacher on his toes after lap 39. This happened although the multiple time champ had the pole , Alonso eventually crossing the chequered flag with 2 sec lead over the veteran champ. Ofcourse the highlight, Kimi Raikonnen having a podium finish though he happened to be the last one on the poles. Will luck run out for him in 2006 ?? The baffling question is yet to be answered.THe hot favorites finish at the podium giving a splendid start 06 Grand Prix season.

SA v/s Aus (The showdown )

But that day eventually belonged to Gibbs the SA one down batsman who just ran through Aussie bowlers shattering new world record of 434 runs in 50 overs which was set up a few hours earlier.

It is same man who was told "Boy, you have lost the oppurtunity to hold the World Cup " By the then Aussie Captain S. Waugh, when he dropped Waughs catch, (actually can you call that a drop, I woudnt not say that) in what can be called a quarter final match of 2003 World Cup.
The real fear came when NTINI came into bat with 2 runs to win, Last wicket and 2 balls remaining. The way he, the man who rarely holds the bat properly took that single saved SA being tagged yet again the " UNLUCKY " ones.

There was indeed a message to Ricky Ponting and co
" Welcome to the Real World "
.

Futbol Mundial

Ofcourse the day didn't end there. This just happened while I was surfing through the TV channels . Hey I am talking about Arsenal beating Liverpool , the score lise reading 2-1 the only disappointmen of the day . Oh ! The reason being I do not support Arsenal .

Why ??

............Never seen a tree so bare yet so attractive . Though there were many green ones to my left , this one attracted me more, for I thought this had more life and was conveying me a message,
"There are times when life is lonely, dry and tough, stand tall and be firm to your roots , you will have the spring back in your life"............

The Other Side ...

If it is the elegance of Charminar and the mutton shops around, that attracts me again and again, The thought of travelling in a city bus just gets my spirits down.

History is Always History

Cramped in a corner,
I ride a bus to Char Minar.
Bursting bodies press on me
as strangeness begs familiarity
in sharing a hard, narrow seat.

I feel the soft, wrinkled skin
of an old Hyderabadi begum
leaning to the window for fresh air,
gasping curses on Allah for her plight.

The mother with child at her breast
squats near my feet, quite content:
two little dirty hands tug innocently
the edge of my crumpled shawl.

Before I mingle again
in the crowd of Char Minar,
two sunken eyes offer me
eternity in a begging bowl,
promising me a reserved seat
in the crowded bus to heaven,
provided I pay the commission.

Sachin Exposed

Sachin Tendulkar has failed yet again. ( A Total Disaster in the Test Series) . Though the law of averages is on his side, how long will it support Our Little Master. I am a big fan of his but I have to truly admit that Moin Khan has exposed him literally. Reading Moins Article I thought, man who in India would have dared to do this deadly deed.

For in India, If Cricket is Religion, then Sachin is God.
How long will I have to wait for SRT to make a comeback again with a bang.

Moin Khans Article
